In these challenging economic times many of us are positioning ourselves for a breakthrough. It is our hope that tomorrow will be the beginning of a new era when the employment situation will turn the corner for the better, people will return to church and our financial condition will improve. We are waiting for a breakthrough.
The following passages below refer to the LAW and the PROPHETS as two of the three divisions of the Old Testament:
“Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them for this is the LAW and the PROPHETS” (Matt. 7:12 NKJV)
Cholesterol is an insoluble fat (lipid) that is primarily formed in the liver. It serves many vital functions in the body. It is an essential component of cell membranes throughout the body, providing stability and allowing substances to be transported into the cells. It is a necessary constituent in the membranes (coverings) in the central nervous system. It is important in the formation of the bile acids which participate in the absorption of fat in the intestine. Cholesterol is also necessary for the adrenal glands to make steroids and sex hormones. In order for cholesterol to be transported in the blood plasma, it must combine with proteins. Thus, when cholesterol is measured in the blood, it is detected as a lipoprotein (a fat-protein-complex).
In these times of economic challenges we need a lift in our spirits to help us focus on our faith. There are too many reports of things that are wrong in our world and scarce newsworthy stories of the good things that are right. The church task is to report the good news that our Lord Jesus can help us overcome the challenges of life and brings us through the changes that we go through.
